6 minOrders > Operations, Machine Scheduler4 steps
On the deliverable, the OP 1 Mill machine icon opens the "Machines for OP 1 Mill" popover, Assign puts MILL-01 on the row, the toast "Updated assigned machines" shows, and the users badge fills with "DO".

Before you start

Note

The Machine Scheduler shows once machine scheduling is turned on for your shop (lesson 3.2). The Status Board is always there.

Steps

  1. Open the deliverable, expand the item, and on each in-house operation under Operations click the machine icon, then Assign next to the machine

The Machines for popover lists the machines that support the operation type.

The Machines for OP 1 Mill popover on Deliverable 2231-1 with MILL-01 listed under Not Assigned and an Assign button.
  2. With auto-assign on, the least-loaded operator is added

Without it, click the user icon on the operation and assign users by hand.

The OP 1 Mill operation row after assignment, showing the DO avatar for Dana Ortiz and MILL-01.
    Warning

The work list on the home page only shows work assigned to that user. Unassigned work shows nowhere, and the empty list reads "Work shows up here the moment someone assigns you an operation…".

  3. Place the work on the Machine Scheduler

  4. Watch progress on the Status Board

What good looks like

  • Every operation has a machine and a person.
  • Every operation is scheduled.

Next: run the job on the floor

Operators start their work at the kiosk, record quantities and sign off with their PIN.
